Deb Watts

The power behind The Power of Women Experience, Deb was born in Lincoln and moved to Grantham at the age of eight.

After training as a Middle Years teacher at Brighton University, she worked in two schools in Worthing, first as a class teacher and PE co-ordinator and specialist before moving into management and ultimately becoming deputy head teacher.

A sports fanatic throughout, she’s taken part in cross country, athletics, netball and hockey – all at County level – and has also competed at National Schools level as a sprinter and hurdler.

Now based in Newark, these days she puts her teaching background to good use home-schooling her 15 year-old son, who has been out of the system since the age of four, and shares her love of sport as a Nordic Walking instructor.

But it’s not only about sport for Deb – she’s just as passionate about all creative subjects, including art, literacy, history, dance and drama, and has played a leading role in bringing productions such as Alice, Grease, Smike and Bugsy Malone to the stage.

Last year she launched The Power of Women Experience, combining her skills and previous businesses with those of fellow team members Carol and Stacey to offer a range of services and events to women across the East Midlands and beyond.

In additional to playing the all-important organisational role for POW, she now specialises in teaching, vision boards, creativity, Miracle Morning and Nordic walking.
